Cavity Pressure Molding

Many plastic parts designed to replace sheet or die-cast metals usually require high quality precision molding. For these applications, cavity pressure molding is the most scientific method of injection molding available. It is considered the most suitable process for monitoring, controlling and optimizing the production process.

In injection molding there is a continuous pressure loss from the end of the injection unit to the end of the flow path in the cavity due to the behavior of the plastic melt. With the cavity pressure process, pressures are continuously monitored within the mold cavity and directly relate to the final part quality.

  • Process permits high volume production with less variation in finished product.
  • Provides better efficiency - zero defect production.
  • Enables tighter tolerances and greater part-to-part consistency.
  • Medical, automotive and cosmetic parts are typical parts molded with this process.
