Last week, GW Plastics sponsored the 13th annual New England Healing Sports Association (NEHSA) Golf Tournament in Grantham, New Hampshire. Every year, businesses and community members from around New England come together to support this event and raise money for both veterans and civilians with disabilities.
In addition to sponsoring all of the golf carts for the tournament, members of the GW Plastics Corporate Engineering Department participated in the tournament. Thank you to David Kopecky, Bill Johnson, Matthew Magnifico, and Tyler LeFreniere for representing GW Plastics and supporting this great fundraiser.
The New England Healing Sports Association was founded in 1972 by disabled Vietnam War veterans as a non-profit organization run by and for individuals with physical disabilities who wanted to enjoy active and independent lives through participating in sports. The program’s goals are to encourage positive attitudes, social opportunities, and personal growth through the challenges that participation in outdoor sports and recreation offers. NEHSA offers year-round activities including snow and summer sports, and is the proud host of several dedicated adaptive sports training events for veterans annually.
“This is a cause that is near and dear to GW Plastics’ heart, as several of our Board of Directors members and many of our associates are veterans,” said Brenan Riehl, President and CEO. “We are proud to support the NEHSA and encourage families to be able to participate in outdoor recreation together, regardless of disabilities.”
