Mexico’s President, Vicente Fox cuts the ribbon to GW Plastics new facility as he toured the high technology state-of-the-art El Marques manufacturing park in Querétaro, about two hours northwest of Mexico City.
GW Plastics, one of the world’s most advanced injection molding providers of precision tooling, components and assemblies, recently hosted Mexico President Vicente Fox, as he toured the high technology, state-of-the-art El Marques manufacturing park in Querétaro, about two hours northwest of Mexico City. Arriving by helicopter, Fox spent the day in one of Latin America’s newest industrial parks featuring the latest infrastructure, transportation logistics and aesthetics. Here, he was shown how GW Plastics meets the regional demands for increased high precision injection molding in this rapidly growing industrial region of the country.

Fox learns about sophisticated process technologies such as insert, multi-shot, and clean room molding. GW Plastics’ newest plant will share the high standardization in equipment, operating practices and quality systems, including ISO 9001:2000 and TS certification, with all other GW Plastics plants.
President Fox was also shown the latest in fully automated, insert molding systems with real time process monitoring. “We designed the plant to use the most advanced technology available.” says GW Plastics’ Ben Bouchard, V.P. International Marketing. “This gives our customers a tremendous competitive advantage. Not only do they get the advantage of low cost country (LCC) manufacturing, they get the added benefit of improved efficiency and quality through automated processes, using the latest molding technology not typically seen in the region.” The plant will focus on sophisticated process technologies such as insert, multi-shot, and clean room molding. GW Plastics’ newest plant will share the high standardization in equipment, operating practices and quality systems, including ISO 9001:2000 and TS certification, with all other GW Plastics plants.

The ultra-modern 52,000 square foot plant was designed to support existing GW Plastics customers, but is expanding rapidly with new markets and customers in this growing region of central Mexico.

The ultra-modern 52,000 square foot facility was designed to support existing GW Plastics customers, but is expanding rapidly with new markets and customers in this growing region of central Mexico.

The initial footprint of the plant can accommodate up to 25 highly automated conventional and insert molding machines. The plant has room for value-added assembly operations and the capacity to expand to 40 machines. The Company also plans to add a Class 8 clean room to serve the growing medical device customer base in Mexico.
