The Experience to Deliver for over 60 Years

Since 1955, GW Plastics has become the contract manufacturing partner of choice for the world’s most successful companies. Our goal is not to be the biggest, but the best, by maintaining a highly focused culture with a deliberate growth strategy.

Specializing in providing complex injection molded thermoplastic and silicone solutions to the healthcare, automotive, and filtration industries, our commitment to quality, innovation, and speed-to-market is why market leaders across the globe trust us to deliver their most challenging products. We excel at close-tolerance mold building, molding, and contract manufacturing using a matrix of competencies geared to collaborative problem solving, Six Sigma quality, and on-time and on-budget delivery.

With our headquarters located in the picturesque Green Mountains of Vermont and six other locations across the globe, GW Plastics is ranked among the world’s most respected injection molding and contract manufacturing companies. A former Plastics News Processor of the Year, we are a financially strong, closely-held organization servicing a portfolio of market-leading Fortune 500 companies.

Our History

GW Plastics was founded over 60 years ago when two early plastics pioneers, John R. Galvin and Odin A. Westgaard, combined their extensive business and materials engineering experience – and their initials – to start a plastics injection molding firm in picturesque Bethel, VT.

After building GW Plastics into one of North America’s premier precision injection molders, they sold the company to Carborundum in 1973. After a series of large-company, M&A transactions in the 1980s, GW Plastics ultimately found itself owned by Standard Oil of Ohio (Sohio). In 1983, a group of company managers and investors, led by Plastics Pioneer Frederic Riehl, purchased the company from Sohio. GW Plastics has remained closely held under the same ownership to this day, and our headquarters are based in the same converted dairy barn as it was founded in over 60 years ago.

Today, GW Plastics ranks among the top injection molders in the world, with a prestigious customer base consisting of market-leading companies.
